What were your initial thoughts on distance learning before you started your program?
Why did you choose distance learning over a traditional face-to-face learning environment? In what ways has your view of distance learning changed since you started your classes?
I have taken several online courses from various universities (real ones, not the “online only” ones)… and honestly I like most of them. However, I think that skilled courses like computer application classes, specialized concept classes, are better online than BASICS… like History or English where class participation is very helpful.
I tried to take English Comp II online one semester and very simply could NOT follow the work. However, I passed all my application courses with flying colors. I think you need to judge on a case by case basis, and avoid taking distance courses in subjects where class participation is usually helpful.
